This Mid Mod mug has a lovely, not too hefty weight, a deliciously balanced, four finger handle, a wide couple base. Sensory Details: the drips at the base may be a lovely textural stimming tool for some and a bit too engaging for others. I found myself wanting to use the warm glaze drips to massage the muscles in my palm. It felt delicious.

Note: This fluid combination of multiple exterior glazes may develop a beautiful and subtle crackle effect in spots as the mug matures. This only occurs on the outside of the piece due to the combination of overlapping - and well tested - glaze layers and does not affect its integrity. Different pottery traditions put different values on this effect but I love how the Eastern potters see it as a celebrated maturing as the piece itself continues the creative process in relationship with its collector.

CARE RECOMMENDATIONS:
Although my pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe, I encourage treating these pieces like a well loved treasure that will be passed down by limiting microwave and dishwasher use.
I have lost a few well loved and irreplaceable Renaissance festival mugs over the years that I’ve learned how to care for my own collection to help keep them with me to pass down to my son. I share the pottery care information in that spirit. I have a few of my own Sublime Pottery pieces that I’ve always microwaved and washed in the dishwasher that are all just fine but some of my pieces I treat like a treasure. I never microwave them or leave them soaking in water. I’ll warm them a bit with warm tap water if it’s a cold winter morning and the kitchen is chilly and I’ll hand wash, towel dry and put them away like my Granny did with her last remaining heirloom china tea cup. It feels special. Like I treated myself and now I’m giving some care to this thing that brings me joy.

Shipping overages will be issued within 5 business days (but generally sooner) once an order has been packed and weighed.
